EKAA TECHNOLOGY is among the 52 companies named finalists at the Digital Signage Awards 2027. Two EKAA products reached the shortlist, both entered in Innovation in Display Technology.
The two finalists
Fanless high-brightness window-facing display — 3,000 / 4,000 nits. This is the display built for the position that defeats ordinary signage: inside the shop, behind the glass, facing the street, with the sun on it for part of the day. The brightness is the obvious part. The less obvious part is that the unit is sealed and fanless, because a window recess is a warm, enclosed space with no airflow and no service access once the shopfit is finished.
IP67 fanless outdoor digital signage — 4,000 / 5,000 nits. Rated IP67 against water and dust and IK10 against impact, for installations that stand outdoors permanently — forecourts, transport sites, drive-thru lanes, open plazas.
What the two have in common, and why it was entered
Both products come from the same decision: no fan.
A cooling fan is the only moving part in a display, and it brings a filter with it. In practice the filter is the component nobody cleans. Once it blocks, the fan works harder, the inside of the unit runs hotter, and the failure arrives as a gradual dimming rather than as an obvious fault — which is why it is usually noticed late.
Removing the fan also changes what the enclosure can be. A box that has to breathe cannot be sealed, and a box that is not sealed cannot be IP67. Fanless construction is not a feature bolted onto an outdoor display; it is the condition that makes a genuinely sealed outdoor display possible.
Full optical bonding is standard across sizes on both lines. Removing the air gap between the glass and the panel keeps the image readable at an angle, and removes the failure mode where internal condensation shows up as a black patch.
The finalist list
The full list of 52 finalists is published by the organiser: Digital Signage Awards 2027 — Results. EKAA appears on it as "EKAA TECHNOLOGY CO."
Other finalists on the same list include Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, ViewSonic, Leyard Europe, Navori Labs, AVI-SPL, SiliconCore, SNA Displays, ZetaDisplay and Yodeck.
What this does and does not change
It does not change the products. Both have been shipping, and the specifications are the same this week as they were last week. What it does change is the starting point of a conversation: a buyer comparing suppliers now has a third-party list to look at rather than only a manufacturer’s own claims.
EKAA TECHNOLOGY designs and manufactures its own commercial displays. Mechanical design, assembly and testing happen in house, which is why size, mounting arrangement, front glass specification and media player can be set to the installation rather than picked from a fixed catalogue, and why the mounting drawings come from the team that builds the unit.
